You're not buying records cleaned. You're buying a database your business can rely on.

Most data cleansing is sold by the record. Count the rows, run the script, send back a tidier file. It's cheap, it's fast, and it answers the wrong question.

The right question isn't how many records — it's which ones matter, what's actually wrong with them, and what should happen to the awkward ones your team will run into on Monday morning. That work isn't a script. It's a series of small judgements, made by someone who's read your data closely enough to know what it's trying to tell you.

Acennan is built around that work. We profile your data before we touch anything. We flag the awkward ones before we resolve them, so you can see what we're proposing before we change a thing. And what we hand back isn't just a cleaner file — it's a database you can run a campaign from, brief an AI tool with, or hand to a new joiner without checking it first.

That's what you're paying for. Here's what it costs.

Three ways in.

Every Acennan engagement starts with the same question: what's actually in your data? The Audit answers that question for free. The Cleanse fixes what the Audit found. The Engine keeps it fixed as your business grows.

You don't have to start with the Audit, but most clients do. It's free, it's quick, and it's the best way to find out whether the rest is worth doing.

THE THREE OFFERINGS

01

Acennan Audit.

Send us 100 of your real records. Within five working days, you'll have a one-page scorecard showing exactly what's in your data, what it's costing you, and what to do about it.

No commitment, no obligation to continue. If the Audit shows your data's already in good shape, we'll tell you and you can walk away.

If it shows what we usually find — duplicates, dead contacts, fragmented records, missing fields — the scorecard becomes the brief for everything that follows.

Free. Five working days.
02

Acennan Cleanse.

A full clean of your contact database — whether it lives in your CRM, a spreadsheet, or a management system you've outgrown.

We profile every record, flag the ones that need a judgement call, and show you what we're proposing before we change anything live. Duplicates merged. Dead companies retired. Contacts verified. Fields standardised. The records you'd forgotten you had, surfaced and made useful again.

You get back a database that's been read, understood, and put back together properly. One fixed fee, no surprises.

From £2,950. Typical delivery: three weeks.
03

Acennan Engine.

The Cleanse is a one-off. The Engine is what stops the problem coming back.

We start with a full Cleanse, then keep your data clean as your business grows. New records get checked on a regular cycle. Existing records get re-validated on a schedule. You receive a monthly summary showing what's changed, what we've fixed, and what needed your input.

For businesses that have been through a Cleanse before and don't want to be back here in eighteen months — or for ones who'd rather skip straight to "always clean" without managing it themselves.

From £650 / month. Includes initial Cleanse. Twelve-month engagement, then rolling monthly with thirty days' notice.

WHAT YOU'RE PAYING FOR

What you're actually paying for.

Most cleansing services list features. We list the work — and what it costs you when it isn't done.

What we do What you'd see Why it matters
Profile your data first A diagnostic showing what's actually in your database — duplicate rates, decay patterns, field-completeness gaps, dormant records. Done before we change anything. Without it, every cleansing decision is a guess. Cleansing without profiling is how good records get deleted and bad ones get kept.
Find and merge duplicates "Hartwell & Co Ltd" and "Hartwell and Co" recognised as the same company. The richer record kept, the thinner one merged in, no data lost. Duplicates inflate your CRM, distort your reporting, and embarrass you when two staff contact the same client about the same thing in the same week.
Verify contacts are still real Email addresses checked for valid format. Phone numbers checked for valid format. Companies checked against Companies House for active status. A database that's 30% wrong is worse than no database at all. You make decisions on what you can see — bad data hides behind looking fine.
Retire dead records properly Dissolved companies, bounced emails, contacts who've left — flagged, archived, removed from active lists. Not deleted; preserved with a reason. So your team stops wasting time on records that were never going to convert. And so you keep an audit trail of what was removed and why.
